Oho Radio is an innovative regional radio, music, and entertainment platform dedicated to celebrating Uttarakhand's cultural heritage, music, and community voices. The platform required a modern mobile application for Android and iOS that could operate reliably across mountainous regions with fluctuating network coverage.
Mountainous terrain in Uttarakhand frequently results in unstable 2G/3G network conditions, causing traditional streaming apps to crash or freeze. The client needed an ultra-lightweight mobile app with proactive audio buffering and low power consumption.
Stem Technocrats built a specialized Flutter mobile application utilizing an optimized local memory buffer and adaptive bit-rate switching. The application dynamically adjusts audio packet resolution based on current cellular throughput while offering offline podcast downloads for travelers.
Intelligent streaming engine that gracefully downscales bitrate on weak cellular networks to prevent audio dropouts.
Listeners can download interviews and cultural folk episodes locally to their device for playback without internet.
Integrated messaging and voting modules allowing listeners to participate in live debates and call-in shows.
Streamlined background audio rendering consuming minimal CPU cycles and battery power during prolonged listening sessions.
